Eggnog French Toast Sticks

These Eggnog French Toast Sticks are such a fun way to start the morning this holiday season! They are slices of texas toast dipped in a spiced eggnog-egg mix before being grilled to golden perfection - then topped with cinnamon-sugar.

I like to serve my kiddos something sweet and seasonal on Christmas morning and these Eggnog French Toast sticks perfectly fit that bill. We enjoy the sticks appetizer-style - on one big plate with a side of syrup for all 6 of us to dip in. It would be lovely to sit-down and have a big breakfast, but ain't nobody got time for that with new toys waiting to be played with! So these Eggnog French Toast Sticks are an easy Christmas breakfast solution that is sure to please the whole family.

What do Eggnog French Toast Sticks and Hallmark Holiday Greeting Cards have in common? For one, they are both a tradition of our family's every holiday season. And second, they are both incredibly sweet! It's so much fun sending out Christmas cards to loved ones, knowing that you are sending a little Christmas joy to someone you care about. We like to sit down as a family, put on a little Christmas music {check out Pandora's Hallmark Station}and fill the cards with love before mailing them off with a cute little holiday postage stamp.

I am a Hallmark fan through-and-through - I love their selection and quality, they have something perfect for everybody. When Christmastime hits I can't help but pick up a variety of greeting cards and one {or two} new Christmas ornaments. This year Hallmark has 16 ornaments that are exclusive to Walmart plus a selection of resin figures, Holiday Barbie, new deco figurines and more. It was a hard choice this year with so many great options, but I finally chose the National Lampoon' Christmas Vacation Christmas Tree Ornament - I am in LOVE!!

Eggnog French Toast Sticks
6 slices of texas toast bread
¼ cup white sugar
1 tablespoon cinnamon
1 cup eggnog
3 eggs, whisked
2 tablespoons dark brown sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 Heat griddle or skillet to medium heat.
2 Slice bread into 1” strips.
3 Whisk together white sugar and cinnamon, set aside.
4 Whisk together eggnog, eggs, brown sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg
5 Melt about a tablespoon of butter in skillet. You’ll want enough to coat the bottom of the pan, don’t be shy!
6 Quickly, dip the pieces of bread in eggnog mixture and then place in skillet. Don’t let the bread soak or the french toast sticks will end up soggy.
7 Cook bread on each side until golden brown, about 30 seconds-1 minute each side. Add more butter to skillet if necessary.
8 Immediately after the french toast sticks are removed from skillet, coat each stick with sugar-cinnamon. I just place a stick in the sugar and shake the bowl around a little bit, then shake any excess sugar off and place sticks on a cookie rack.
9 Repeat steps 5-8 until bread is gone. Enjoy!

I found the Hallmark Holiday Cards and Ornaments in the greeting card section at my local Walmart store. There was an at-shelf coupon for Hallmark Holiday Cards {$2 off/3 card purchase}, so make sure to keep an eye out for it in your holiday greeting card shopping adventures!

See more great holiday card ideas and tell me which ornament you're most looking forward to this season. I'd love to hear about your favorite family traditions!
